DESIGN AUTHENTICITY CRAFTMANSHIP LUXURY
After studying textile design for fashion at the University of Brighton Høj knew she was destined to become a “knitter” and became totally emersed in the magic of garment creation through the medium of yarn and stitch structure. She says: “It is so fascinating that you can make three dimensional shapes and create the fabric in the shape and form you want. That is unique and to this day still what fascinates me. Choosing the yarn, developing new stitches and thereby creating shape that can be utilised in garment form is amazing and when it really works it gives me such a kick!“
Iben Høj graduated with a First Honours degree in Fashion Knitwear at University of Brighton in 1997. Born and bred in Denmark she now lives and works from her studio in seaside town Kerteminde on Funen.
In 2003 the designer launched her first eponymous collection of women’s knitwear.
